The Bridge: Affectionately dubbed “The Bridge” by students (in reference to Star Trek’s Starship Enterprise) one of the defining design features of the new library is a hub-and-wings motif comprised of a triangular mezzanine within an aluminum-clad cylindrical drum that serves as a flexible learning hub.

Student-Centric Perspective: By integrating services and resources in the drum, students now have easy access to an array of solo or collaborative learning spaces. Three adjoining wings house distinct departments for more specialized functions. Abundant daylight and beech wood finishes create a warm, dynamic interior environment

Efficiency of Operations: The distinctive building geometry of a triangle within a circle addresses a reduced number of supervising staff due to diminished operating budgets. An open floor plan allows library staff to operate from three strategically located service points, each with clear lines of sight to the public areas of both the resource hub and wings.
